Bernhard Hammer is a Vienna-based musician, guitarist, and composer whose work explores the intersections of electronic music, guitar, and contemporary composition.

As co-founder of Elektro Guzzi, he has toured internationally and gained acclaim for transforming guitar, bass, and drums into a live techno ensemble, performing at clubs and festivals across Europe, North America, and Asia. In collaboration with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, he co-composed and performed an evening-length work that fused orchestral writing with techno structures.

With projects such as Monochord (with Jakob Schneidewind) and Parajekt (with Matija Schellander), Hammer extends his practice into electroacoustic and experimental territories, blending filmic atmospheres, minimal structures, and sound research.

Under his solo alias Buenoventura, he released the debut album Gelb (2025, Palazzo Recordings), a minimalist exploration of guitar loops and reduced textures. His concert piece Reflektierende Echos for piano and live electronics marked his first step into a broader contemporary repertoire, combining extended techniques, graphic notation, and hybrid sound design.

Together with his Elektro Guzzi colleagues, Hammer also runs the label Palazzo Recordings, curates the monthly radio show Palazzo Radio on res.radio, and organizes the concert series Palazzo Labelnight in Vienna.

In addition to his projects, Hammer composes for film, theater, and interdisciplinary formats. Works like Affirmations – for AI voices, choir, and multi-channel audio – highlight his openness to new technologies and hybrid ensembles.

His music moves between club aesthetics, avant-garde traditions, and contemporary composition, characterized by loop-based forms, rhythmic layering, and an organic interplay of electronic and acoustic sound.
